I'm a big fan - but missed all of this year. I would blame it on something - but the only thing I can blame it on would be my own procrastination. I do not have cable and for Christmas I finally received the HD box so that I can watch regular TV. The box is still sitting in my living room right next to the TV. I guess after spending over a year NOT watching any TV, I am not in the mood to set it up. However - I'm sad I didn't take the time to do it, or to watch. I heart the Olympics.
especially when I read news like this...
An "emergency airlift" of 8,500 condoms was sent last week to the Olympic Villages in Vancouver and Whistler for the athletes. The first shipment of 100,000 - or 14 condoms per visiting athlete - provided by the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research had run out. Foundation executive director Kerry Whiteside told The Kingston Whig Standard: "when we heard about the condom shortage in Vancouver, we felt it important to respond immediately. Safer sex is key to preventing the spread of the HIV virus."
The demand for condoms at the Vancouver Games is in stark contrast to Beijing. Last fall, a collector auctioned 5,000 condoms that were left over from the 2008 Summer Games.
How fun is that?
now, on the downside or opposite side of that, I also read this:
NEW CONDOMS FOR BOYS
Condoms in a smaller size for boys as young as 12 have hit the shelves in Switzerland, following government-funded research.
The condom, called the Hotshot, has been created in response to research funded by the Federal Commission for Children and Youth which showed that 12- to 14-year-olds were not using adequate protection when having sex, the UK's Daily Telegraph reported.
The research, conducted by the Centre for Development and Personality Psychology at University of Basel interviewed 1,480 young people between the ages of 10 and 20 and found that more 12- to 14-year-olds were having sex than a decade ago. Another German study of 12,970 13- to 20-year-olds, found a quarter said a standard condom was too large.
The Hotshots, which cost $7.85 for a packet of six, have been created by a leading Swiss condom manufacturer, Lamprecht AG. They measure 4.5cm in diameter, compared to a normal condom, which has a diameter of 5.2cm. The Hotshots are the same length as a standard condom.

Guys...did you even know what you were doing by yourself at 12? let alone have a need for condoms? I'm glad that kids are being safe and all - but isn't there a time to say a kid and just play with yourself instead of having full-on sex?
Maybe I'm a bit jealous but I'm just saying...
ciao -
